In 2009, CityCenter-- the newest and most luxurious hotel and casino complex on the Las Vegas Strip-- invited ZIMBA to custom design their cocktail dresses, worn by the cocktail servers and high-end hostesses. ZIMBA was asked to re-interpret what the Vegas cocktail dresses should look like. CityCenter’s crown jewel, Aria Resort & Casino, features these custom-designed creations.

CityCenter wanted the dresses to have a timeless appeal. In addition, it was imperative that the designs were flattering on a variety of body shapes and ethnicities. Keeping these guidelines in mind, Kelsy Zimba, ZIMBA's Creative Director and Lead Designer, chose a black and gold color palette. "Black and gold are rich colors that look beautiful on a range of skin-tones, and never go out-of-style," Kelsy explained. The fabrics used included a mix of laser-cut mesh, jerseys, and glitter knits. Subtle shimmer was created by layering a sparkly, glitter knit underneath a sheer mesh. "They look really glamorous under the casino lights."

The draping of the dresses was designed to accentuate certain body parts, and conceal areas that most women want to hide. "All body types --from column-shaped to hourglass-- will be wearing these garments. I want everybody to look amazing and feel confident." To ensure comfort and support for the wearer, a custom-made bra was developed and constructed into each cocktail dress. Further, steps were taken to make sure that there would be shoulder and back comfort throughout the long periods of wear.

Wearing ZIMBA garments, the new Vegas cocktail server has classy sex-appeal, comfort, and timeless beauty.
