ZIMBA infuses the refinement and craft of haute couture fashion with culturally inspired designs that reflect international forms of beauty. Since beauty is not ethnocentric, ZIMBA pushes to re-define the cultural definition of splendor.

At ZIMBA, garment making is viewed as an art form. The initial, inspired concept is transformed into a three-dimensional creation.

Superior quality is achieved through these well-planned garments. Every aspect of the clothing is attended to, from the length of the stitch to the shape of a button. The customer receives a garment they will want to keep for a lifetime.

Impeccable detailing sets ZIMBA apart. Customers know their ZIMBA garments are made with the utmost care so they look and feel fantastic. Hand-stitches are used to achieve a shape, curve, or detail when a machine won't do.

Enhancing the body's natural curves and shapes, ZIMBA clothing evokes a woman's confidence. Attention to the drape, cut, and form are part of the ZIMBA standards. The silhouettes, seam-lines, and trimmings often add a slimming effect to the wearer and properly accentuate the body.

Kelsy Zimba, the creative director of ZIMBA, was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. From a young age, knowing luxury fashion was her focus, she began taking private lessons in couture dressmaking. These couture skills helped define the essence of ZIMBA through finely crafted workmanship and impeccable fit. To continue her understanding of the fashion business while still in high school, she was mentored in the design and manufacture of high-end sportswear, learning the process from concept to consumer.

In 2004, Zimba entered the world-renowned Fashion Institute of Technology, where she earned some of FIT's highest honors, including Fashion Design Student of the Year and Dennis Basso's Critic's Award.

Opting for the international route of fashion design while at FIT, Kelsy combined three years of study in New York City with one year in Florence at the famed Italian design school, Polimoda. While in Florence, Ferruccio Ferragamo, President of Salvatore Ferragamo and of Polimoda, allowed Kelsy and her peers an unprecedented look at the secret workings of the Ferragamo House. This privilege escalated Kelsy's knowledge of how to create and maintain the essence that defines luxury brands.

While living in New York City, Kelsy has had the opportunity to work at design houses such as Zac Posen, Jhane Barnes, and Michael Kors. Each of these fine companies has offered her a uniquely rich design and business experience.

Most recently, Kelsy has been working alongside Jhane Barnes to create the first ever high-end designer uniform program for the cutting-edge CityCenter in Las Vegas. Through this program, she managed over 200 different designs, from conception through production. Kelsy was also contracted to custom design cocktail dresses for CityCenter under the ZIMBA label.

Further, the Academy Awards requested Kelsy to design dresses for consideration at the Oscars, an honor she was proud to accommodate.

ZIMBA continues to push the envelope of wearable haute couture fashion through superior quality, impeccable detailing, and body-enhancing designs. "Customers should know that I am driven to make clothing that pleases them."
